Funny Story...

Here's a sweet little story about Jasmine.  This happened yesterday:

Jasmine and I were sitting on the couch watching "A Baby Story" on TLC.  Jazzy likes to sit on the opposite side of the couch from me, so she can sit like a big girl.  Well, when the woman on the show gave birth and got to hold her little bundle right away, I started crying because I didn't get to do that with Jazzy.  She noticed that I was crying and came over to give me a hug...a BIG HUG!  Then she leaned back and did the sign for "owie," asking me if I had an "owie" because I was crying!  It was so cute and sweet that it made me cry even more!  Oh, man...I love my little girl!  She is getting so big!

I'm super busy today, but I wanted to share that little story and hope it brings a smile to someone's face.:)

Really Quick...

Just a thought...Why does Leap Year exist?  Why do we have 1/4 days each year?  It makes absolutely NO sense!!  Anyway, that's been bugging me lately...

We are having an extremely lazy weekend!  It's lovely.:)  I did get out our box of 6-12 month clothes for Jazzy so she has some more options...and put away all the ones she doesn't fit anymore.  It appeased my OCD immensely!  :)

I did our taxes last week and we are getting a HUGE refund this year!  We are going to pay off some bills so we don't have to worry about them anymore!  Super excited!!  :)

Anyway, just a little tidbit of the weekend.  I'm trying to write more often, but it never seems to work out for me.  We've gotten the house a little more organzied as of late, so I should be able to write more because I have to clean less.:)

Talk to you soon!

Deck the Halls, Bruise Your Hand

So, ya...it's been a LONG TIME since I had any time to sit down and write to all of you.  Lots of stuff going on.  Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years...and lots of day-to-day stuff.

Thanksgiving was an ordeal!  We hosted Josh's side of the family, which is, thankfully, much smaller than mine! It was a lot of work, but with it.  We got to use our fancy china which we've never had a chance to use before.  We had fun!  Jazzy tried sweet potatoes for the first time, and she loved them!

Christmas was a huge ordeal!  We had our own little family Christmas on Christmas Eve, just the three of us.  It was fun!  Jasmine opened her present herself.  Watch below:

She is so cute!  :)

We then had Christmas with Josh's family (Parents and brother, and his fiance) on Christmas morning, and celebrated with my family (extended: aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents...over 20 people!) on Christmas night.  It was a LONG day!  But, it was fun.:)

On New Years, we just vegged and watched movies.  Josh passed out before midnight, like he usually does.  I had planned on it, too, but I was still putting Jazzy to bed...so I watched the ball drop by myself.  It was nice and quiet...until someone started shooting off fireworks and GUNS in our neighborhood!  Not my favorite!

We also got family portraits done in the beginning of December.  They turned out great!  Here are a few:

I love them!

Let's see...what else...Oh!  Jazzy got her first teeth last week!  I'm so excited.:)  I love little baby teeth!  And she's almost crawling.  She does this little inch-worm thing...it's adorable!  When she really starts crawling, she's going to be EVERYWHERE!  She can't hold still.:)  I can't really think of anything else right now...I'm hoping to be able to write more often...*crosses fingers*  We will see!

Have a good start to the year!

Rachel

P.S.  Farewell Karen.  You are sorely missed!  You are where you want to be now; you are lucky!

New New New

So, it's been a while since I wrote last...probably a good thing.:)  A lot has been going on over here...not anything too big, just a lot.  We got satellite TV today...and I'm super excited!  FINALLY!! :)  We finally gave in...and I'm watching one of my favorite shows right now: Criminal Minds.:)  It took forever for them (the technician had to call in someone to help) to hook everything up, but we have a DVR also, so we can watch our shows when we want to, now.  Anyway, enough about that!

We moved Jazzy into her own room last week.  Its going great!  She hasn't had any problems with it.  It probably helps that since the beginning we had her in her own bed, but in our room.  We also set up her crib and she's sleeping in that.  I set it up all cute and I love how sweet she looks sleeping in it.:)

How cute is that?!  She's so sweet.:)  But, tonight she has been crying in her sleep.  And I don't mean just whimpering.  I mean full on crying with tears and everything.  I hope she's not having nightmares.:(

Jazzy also fed herself the other day.  I picked carrots, so that they would show up better.  Take a look:

She didn't do too badly for her first time:)  She didn't like the carrots much, but she liked them mixed into rice cereal...so there's something!  She's doing really well with solids.  No allergies yet, but I haven't been too adventurous when it comes to that...there will be plenty of time to add more before her first birthday.  I've been reading that pureed meat is the best first meal...weird!  Anyway...

We're all sick...again!  I just don't think that we are going to be well all winter...but, we will see.  There are so many things going on right now that we just don't have time to slow down and get enough rest...like me staying up so late talking to you guys.:)  Maybe after the holidays...hopefully!

On a different note, I went in to see the doctor on a follow up for the car accident.  She said that I may have lifetime problems with it, that I need to ice it everyday after a lot of activity, and that I have to wear a new brace...yippee!!  It's not as bad as the boot, but it's still uncomfortable.  She did say that I could work part-time cutting hair if I wanted to, but I don't wanna leave the love-bug yet.:)  I love her too much!!!

Jazzy turned 5 months on Thursday.  She's getting so big!  I don't want her first birthday to come yet!!  I'm just really glad she hasn't started crawling yet...soon enough!   She does scoot and roll all over the place, though.:)  It's so cute!

I think that's all I have to report right now...We plan on getting some family photos done soon so we can send out a Christmas card, so if you want one, make sure I have your address (send it to me on FB).:)

Love to all!

Love is All that Matters

I love Josh Gatchet.  He is a wonderful man.  I don't know what I would do without him.  He's there with me through everything and I know he will always be there. We celebrated our one year anniversary yesterday.  It was wonderful!

My sister, Lindsey, and her fiance, Bryan, watched Jazzy for us all day so we could spend some time with just the two of us.  It was fantastic!  We rented a movie, made lunch, and just sat back and relaxed at home.  I haven't been at our house without Jazzy since she was born.  It was a little weird.  I kept expecting to hear her start crying from the other room.  We then went out to dinner and then picked little Jazzy up.  We also picked up the top tier of our wedding cake from my grandparent's house so we could eat some when we got home.  It was still partially frozen, but still good.:)

Today I spent the day setting up our new wireless Internet, new phone line, and ordering cable!!!  Yay!  One more week and I will not be able to turn my TV off.:)  I'm not sure how I survived this long without it.  Josh spent the day at work...I can't really go into details, but he was not a happy camper when he came home.  He's sick, which just makes things worse.  He's been asleep for about an hour, off and on.  Jazzy slept most of the day, which made mine easier, except for the fact that I'm getting sick and I'm tired, too.  But, oh well...no rest for the Mommies or Wives, right?

In light of yesterday being my anniversary, I was just re-reading the vows I wrote for our wedding.  I wouldn't change them for anything...well, maybe to add some stuff, but not take any of it away.  I will always love Josh Gatchet, and I wouldn't want it any other way.  :)

Trick or Treat!

Yesterday was Jazzy's first Halloween.  She was very sweet, despite being sick.:(  We went to see my parents and Josh's parents to show of Jazzy in her cuteness.:)  They loved it!  Jazzy loved Josh's parent's dog, Taffy.  Taffy would bark and Jazzy would just laugh so much!  It was great!  I have never heard her laugh that much before.  She also laughed at Dwayne (Josh's dad) making farm animal noises, particularly the donkey.

We didn't do too much yesterday...just moved a little bit more of our stuff back into the house.  We were going to be moving, but it seems to be a long way off now (we are switching units with our landlord) and are tired of living out of boxes.

We are also moving stuff around so Jazzy can have her own room soon!  Josh and I are excited about that!  I hate tossing in bed (I don't sleep well) and almost waking her up all the time.  And every time she tosses, so does Josh.  It's just not working for us anymore.

Today, Josh went back to work for the week and Jazzy and I were alone for the morning.  She was worse today and so today was somewhat difficult.  But, we survived and we went to Costco to get diapers.  How is it that when you buy size 1-2, you get 216 diapers for $30, but when you move up to size 3, you get 212 diapers for $40?!  Seriously?!  Dumb.

Also, I have to mention that today is my dear friend's birthday, and I just want to point out that fact and wish KT a happy birthday on here, too! :)  Love you, friend!

Well, I better sign off.  I'm hopefully going to get one of the videos I took of Jazzy laughing at Taffy up here tomorrow, but I have to find the cord to upload it first.;)  But, let me leave you with a little treat:

Goodnight, all!  Sleep well with lovely dreams!  Tomorrow I am going to talk more about my Love, Josh.:)

The First

So, Jasmine is sick.  Sick, sick, sick.  She has a pretty bad cough and is extremely congested.  I feel so bad because there isn't much I can do for her! :(  It has made the last couple of nights rough, but I have her propped up tonight, so hopefully that will let her sleep at least a little longer!  She took one long nap and two short naps which made the day bearable.  She was quite entertained watching us rearrange furniture, which made that whole mess much better.

Josh had a plan to move the computer desk out of the front room and into the spare bedroom, move the sectional and entertainment center to the other side of the living room, and make the now empty side into a "library."  This did not go as he had planned.

The movement and set up of the computer desk and a bookshelf in the spare bedroom went well.  They fit perfectly and look good in the spot.  The sectional, however, didn't want to cooperate.  You see, it's opposite from most sectionals, which makes setting it up in a room difficult.  It's also rather large, which also makes things interesting.  None of his ideas worked so we had to put it back where it was, along with the entertainment center.  Where the computer desk was will have two bookcases along with my wing-back chair and our other love-seat.  We used the love-seat to separate the room.  It looks great!  After much frustration and moving every piece of furniture at least 3 times each, Josh is happy.:)

We went out and got snack foods from the dollar tree...don't diss.  It's not a bad place for snack foods...they have Bugles!!  Remember those?!  Anyway, we also got a $5 pizza and went home and watched Urban Legend.  And now I have two snoring Loves-of-my-Life in my room.  Gotta love it!

On another note, Jazzy has tried applesauce on two different occasions now.  She seems to like it and hasn't had any allergic reactions.  Allergies run rampant in my family so we gotta be extra careful.

Well, I better get done on here so I don't wake Jazzy up and so I can get some sleep myself.  Have a good night!

Get rearranged.
